Wheel-thrown and altered stoneware bowl finished in a titanium flashing slip and fired in the Pleasant Hill anagama wood kiln. The long firing coaxed an extraordinary range across the surface — soft lavender-gray blushes, warm ochre flashing, a burst of deep orange where the flame licked hardest, and crusted deposits of wood ash that crystallized into a rugged, glassy crust. The faceted, hand-altered form catches light differently from every angle, and the atmospheric coloring shifts as you turn it. Sized just right to cradle in two hands.

This is the bowl for the guilty midnight scoop of ice cream or the quiet morning yogurt — an everyday ritual made a little more ceremonial.
